Valley in Bloom
Each piece is captured in a rare moment where light, time, and place come together.
I'd hiked up to Albion Basin specifically for the wildflowers. Early July in the Wasatch Range, if the timing is right, brings an explosion of color - entire hillsides covered in yellow, purple, white, and pink. I'd been watching the forecast and the reports, and this morning everything suggested conditions would be perfect.
When I crested the ridge and saw the basin spread out before me, I stopped. The wildflowers were at peak bloom - wildflowers as far as you could see dominating the foreground in brilliant yellow, lupine adding purple accents, all of it set against the green of the alpine meadow. The peaks beyond were still showing slight patches of snow, and the sky was clear blue with scattered clouds adding texture without threatening the light.
I composed to emphasize the sweep of flowers in the foreground while including the full valley and peaks beyond. The flowers needed to be sharp and detailed, showing individual blooms rather than just masses of color, which meant careful focus stacking and a small aperture. The undulating terrain created natural leading lines, drawing the eye from the immediate foreground up through the valley to the mountains beyond.
What made this moment work was the convergence of timing and conditions. Wildflowers at this elevation have a narrow window - too early and they haven't bloomed, too late and they're already fading. The weather has to cooperate. The light has to be right. When it all aligns, you get moments like this - entire mountainsides transformed into gardens, color so intense it almost doesn't look real.

My Commitment
craftsmanship
Quality and craftsmanship sit at the heart of every piece I produce—long after the shutter clicks and long before a print ever reaches a wall. From meticulous file preparation to museum-grade materials and exacting color accuracy, each image is refined through a deliberate, uncompromising process designed to honor the moment it was captured. It is this final, critical step that transforms a fleeting encounter in the wild into a lasting work of fine art.
