Still Open
Each piece is captured in a rare moment where light, time, and place come together.
I entered the Woodford Reserve stillhouse and found myself surrounded by copper - massive pot stills rising two stories high, their bulbous chambers and swan-neck pipes dominating the space. The metal glowed under the interior lighting, its surface showing the subtle variations that come from hand-hammered construction and years of heat cycling. Some areas gleamed bright and reflective, others showed the deeper tones of oxidation, creating a palette that ranged from rose-gold to amber to bronze.
The architecture of the building itself provided the perfect backdrop - limestone walls that date back to the 1830s, painted white to reflect light and create contrast with the warm copper. Wood plank floors, worn smooth by generations of distillers. Modern LED accent lighting highlighting the equipment while respecting the historical character of the space.
What makes this image compelling is the layering of stills—foreground, mid-ground, and background - each at a slightly different angle, creating depth and revealing the complexity of the distillation process. The glass viewing port on the nearest still offers a glimpse inside, where the liquid undergoes its transformation. The Woodford Reserve name on the wall anchors the image in place and tradition.

My Commitment
craftsmanship
Quality and craftsmanship sit at the heart of every piece I produce—long after the shutter clicks and long before a print ever reaches a wall. From meticulous file preparation to museum-grade materials and exacting color accuracy, each image is refined through a deliberate, uncompromising process designed to honor the moment it was captured. It is this final, critical step that transforms a fleeting encounter in the wild into a lasting work of fine art.
