Buffalo Trace
Each piece is captured in a rare moment where light, time, and place come together.
I wasn't planning to photograph the water tower. I was walking the Buffalo Trace grounds looking for distillery details when I turned a corner and there it was - rising above the trees, weathered and iconic, with the faded Buffalo Trace logo still visible on the tank. Sometimes the best shots aren't the ones you planned for.
The composition was straightforward - let the tower dominate, frame it with the trees on either side, use the brick building as a grounding element. The sky that morning was clear and blue, which gave me clean separation and let the tower's structure read clearly against it. No drama, no complicated light. Just a functional piece of distillery infrastructure that's been standing there for decades, doing its job.
I set up to emphasize the verticality - the tower rising upward, the diagonal cross-bracing creating visual interest, the cylindrical tank at the top showing its age and character. The trees were in full leaf, their green contrasting with the weathered metal and the blue sky. The brick building added a warm tone and provided context without competing for attention.
What I was after was the honest documentation of place - not glamorized or overly styled, just a straightforward capture of what's there. Buffalo Trace is a working distillery, and this tower is part of that working infrastructure. It's not decorative. It's functional. And there's a particular kind of beauty in structures that have been doing their job reliably for generations, showing the honest wear that comes from continuous service.

My Commitment
craftsmanship
Quality and craftsmanship sit at the heart of every piece I produce—long after the shutter clicks and long before a print ever reaches a wall. From meticulous file preparation to museum-grade materials and exacting color accuracy, each image is refined through a deliberate, uncompromising process designed to honor the moment it was captured. It is this final, critical step that transforms a fleeting encounter in the wild into a lasting work of fine art.
