Barrel Pick
Each piece is captured in a rare moment where light, time, and place come together.
I photographed outside the distillery warehouse during autumn, where barrels were staged on the ground among fallen leaves. The brick building provided backdrop and context. For the selective color treatment, I isolated a single barrel, rendering it in warm wood tones while everything else - the other barrels, the building, the leaves, the ground - fell into black and white.
The composition works because of the natural setting. These aren't barrels in sterile storage - they're outside, in Kentucky autumn, surrounded by the seasonal cycles that affect aging. Temperature swings push bourbon in and out of the wood. Humidity affects evaporation rates. Time and environment collaborate to create what ends up in bottles years later.
The single colorized barrel becomes the hero, glowing golden-brown against the monochrome scene. It represents selection, specificity, the moment when one barrel among many is deemed ready or special or representative of something worth bottling separately.

My Commitment
craftsmanship
Quality and craftsmanship sit at the heart of every piece I produce—long after the shutter clicks and long before a print ever reaches a wall. From meticulous file preparation to museum-grade materials and exacting color accuracy, each image is refined through a deliberate, uncompromising process designed to honor the moment it was captured. It is this final, critical step that transforms a fleeting encounter in the wild into a lasting work of fine art.
